Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov hosts the EU’s Special Representatives for Central Asia, Terhi Khakala and EU’s Special Representatives for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmore.
The parties discussed current aspects of relations between Uzbekistan and the EU in the political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres and exchanged opinions on issues of mutual cooperation in the development of civil society, human rights, gender equality and freedom of expression.
They pointed to the importance of signing the Extended Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the EU as soon as possible and focused on the schedule of events planned at different levels in the Uzbekistan-EU and Central Asia-EU formats.
