President signed the Measures to implement the project: "Program for the Comprehensive Development of Cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan" with the participation of the Asian Development Bank" Decree.
The decree was developed in pursuance of the president’s Approval of the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 and the introduction of new approaches and mechanisms for managing investment projects Decree,” Norma said.
A preliminary agreement was reached with ADB on the signing of the US$59 million loan agreement for the implementation of the project "Comprehensive Urban Development Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
While, goods purchased within the framework of projects implemented at the expense of funds (loans, credits) of international financial institutions and foreign government financial organizations in accordance with international treaties of Uzbekistan are exempt from customs duties.
The project implementation period is 5 years (2023–2027). The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade has been identified as the executive body responsible for the timely implementation of the project, targeted and efficient use of ADB loans.
The document approved:
· main technical and economic parameters of the feasibility study of the project "Comprehensive Urban Development Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan";
· forecasted repayment schedule for the loan of the Asian Development Bank and payment of interest on it within the framework of the project “Comprehensive Development of Cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan”;
· forecast repayment schedule for the distribution of the shares of coverage of the loan of the Asian Development Bank from 2028 within the framework of the project "Comprehensive Urban Development Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan";
· forecast of distribution of shares in connection with covering the costs of servicing the loan of the Asian Development Bank under the second component of the project "Comprehensive Urban Development Program of the Republic of Uzbekistan".
