Uzbekistan has agreed with Gazpromneft to import 300,000 tons of oil in 2023, the chief of the main department of the Ministry of Energy, Adkhamjon Ubaidullayev said.

He announced this on Tuesday at the three-day Innoprom. Central Asia exhibition with the participation of over 300 companies from Uzbekistan, Russia and other CIS countries.

Earlier in December last year, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan agreed to supply 300,000 tons of Kazakh oil products in 2023 and transit 300,000 tons of Russian oil through Kazakhstan. The parties also agreed on the modernization and construction of gas storage facilities and the construction of a coal thermal power plant in Kazakhstan to supply energy to Uzbekistan.
