In the Samarkand province, a 45-year-old man had been raping his 10-year-old niece for almost a year and a half using force and threats.
The press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office said that criminal case was launched on July 12 against a man under Depraved acts against a minor, associated with the use of violence or threats charge, and is punishable by imprisonment from 5 to 8 years. He was arrested.
On July 22, the case was reclassified to Part 4 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code - Sexual intercourse in an unnatural form with the use of violence, threats or using the helpless state of the victim, committed against a person under 14 years of age. This crime is punishable by imprisonment from 15 to 20 years.
“Currently, investigations are underway in the criminal case,” said Khayot Shamsutdinov, spokesman to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
