Cabinet of Ministers issued a resolution on September 4 amending the Rules for carrying in and out of foreign currency by individuals across the border of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Justice said.
Now, without declaring, individuals will be allowed to carry in and out cash in an equal or less than 100 million soums ($8,239 at the Central Bank's exchange rate on September 5) instead of the current 70 million soums.
While, now, for consultation, individuals can present cash in excess of the specified limit to customs officials before customs control, in which case the employees shall explain them the rules for filling out the declaration. Previously, there was no such clause in the rules.
The resolution shall take effect after three months.
