Ukrainian children received humanitarian aid from Uzbek benefactors, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Tashkent Mykola Doroshenko said on his facebook page.
The aid package included jerseys for men, women and children, as well as 2,000 first-grader kits. The set includes a backpack, a notebook, a sketchbook, colored paper, a set of plasticine, a pen, glue, a pencil, colored pencils, watercolors and a pencil case.
The humanitarian cargo was received by the chief of the International Society of Ukrainian-Uzbek Friendship Lubomyr Bashinsky. The Embassy of Ukraine said that this is the second batch of humanitarian cargo collected by non-governmental organizations and businesses in Uzbekistan. The first, including 10.5 tons of clothing, footwear and medical products, arrived in the country on August 18. The senders, like last time, preferred to remain anonymous.
Sets for first-graders were handed over to the Center for Displaced Persons in the Transcarpathian Regional Administration. They were received by orphans and children of displaced persons from Kharkiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Zaporozhye regions.
“I am convinced that anonymous charity does not negate gratitude. I express my sincere gratitude to the initiators of this action. It confirms the invariability of friendship between our peoples,” wrote Ambassador of Ukraine Mykola Doroshenko.
