Uzbekistan and Israel have agreed to lift restrictions on air flights between the countries, the Dunyo reported. On September 6, the Uzbek Ambassador to Tel Aviv, Feruza Mahmudova, and the Minister of Transport and Road Safety of Israel, Miri Regev, signed a MoM amending the intergovernmental treaty on air services of July 4, 1994.
According to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan, the document provides for the removal of restrictions on the number of air carriers and destinations for air transportation between countries.
The document will facilitate the launch of many destinations and attract new airlines, as well as increase tourist flow, Dunyo added.
In March 2022, Uzbekistan Airways launched new direct flights to Israel, increasing the frequency of flights up to four times a week.
For a long time, only Uzbekistan Airways operated flights between the two countries. Since May of this year, the private airline Qanot Sharq has announced the launch of a Samarkand to Tel Aviv flight.
