The MoM, signed at a recent meeting of the Ministers of transport of the countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization, is dedicated to the creation of Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey multimodal corridor, the press service of the Ministry of transport said.
In particular, the MoM provides:

organization of cargo transportation from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region to the countries of the European Union through the territories of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Turkey;

application of competitive price rates and facilitating the transportation of goods by railways of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey;
- joint development of measures to unify regulatory and technical standards for transportation along the route;
- increasing transport connectivity of the countries participating in the route.
As reported earlier, at a meeting of the ministers of transport of the ECO countries, Samarkand airport was given the status of an aviation hub of the ECO countries.
