President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 21 following his Tashkent province trip held a meeting with the leadership of the province, Akhborot reported.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed out the need to raise living standards. "People are tired of waiting for better life conditions, it's time to start working and provide them with everything they need," he said. Among the main tasks - providing clean drinking water to remote areas of the province, construction of housing and transport communications.
Affordable multi-storey apartment houses, which are being built in the Tashkent's Sergeli district, will also be built in Tashkent province.
A free economic zone will be created in Parkent, which will mostly host projects by South Korean investors. This will serve the development of the district, help create jobs. "This is what I always think about, what I dream about, what preoccupies me," the President stressed.
Bostanlyk and Angren have enormous tourism potential. "We need modern hotels and infrastructure", Mirziyoyev underscored.
He suggested that former Pedagogical Institute shall reopen in Chirchik, and a branch of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys shall open in Almalyk city.
The President criticized the activities of a number of government bodies. He proposed to dismiss the mayors of Angren Ibrahimjon Rahmanov and Akhangaran district Rustam Ubaidullayev. The prosecutors of the Pskent and Urtachirchik districts, the chief of Police Department and the head of tax service of Urtachirchik district, and the head of the Central Bank's branch in the province will also be dismissed from their posts.
Other senior executives were tasked to improve the state of affairs in the near future and fundamentally change their attitudes to work.
"The main goal is the development of the province. Before, we concentrated our efforts on Tashkent city. This is understandable, the level of development of the capital city reflects the level of development of the whole country. But it's time we shift our priorities - we will analyze drawbacks, failures and try to make people's lives better here," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
