The Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamlov hosted the President of the Chinese ZTO Express Hu Xiangliang Monday.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the parties discussed the ways to develop Uzbekistan's transport and logistics sector, as well as the implementation of new infrastructure projects in this area in cooperation with Chinese companies and financial institutions.
The officials of ZTO Express made a presentation on the company's activities, highlighting that the company is a major logistics company, providing cargo reception, storage, sorting and delivery services from warehouses to end consumers. The company's clients include large e-commerce operators such as Alibaba Group, JD.com, Pinduoduo.
Hu Xiangliang expressed his readiness to implement joint projects in Uzbekistan in the following areas: In particular, the construction and equipping of warehouses at airports, erecting "smart" logistics warehouses, the organization of industrial parks in Uzbekistan for the assembly of equipment and subsequent export to neighboring countries, and the informatization of the customs clearance system.
In turn, the Minister of Transport Ilhom Makhkamov made a number of proposals to ZTO Express, including logistics center projects in Navoi province, building cooperation with the Tashkent State Transport University, and the organization of training programs for university students and teachers aimed at studying the experience of Chinese logistics services.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to establish a working group to determine the next steps on the discussed matters.
