From December 11, the Fergana Oil Refinery will increase the total production of AI-80 and AI-92 gasoline to 1,000 tons per day.

“This strategic decision was prompted by the growing demand for fuel in winter, when car engines require higher quality and cold-resistant fuel. An increase in gasoline production will ensure a stable supply on the fuel market and allow the plant to effectively meet the needs of consumers during the winter season,” the statement says.

Deputy General Director for Oil Refining at SANEG Latipov Habib underscored that the increase in gasoline production was the result of new technological solutions as part of the modernization carried out at the plant, aimed at providing the population with affordable fuel.

“Today the plant is reaching a new level of technological processes, determining the optimal operating parameters of the equipment. The growth in gasoline production also contributes to the formation of a free market price,” Latipov noted.

Earlier, in early November, there was a shortage of AI-95 gasoline at Uzbekneftegaz and a number of other private gas stations. On November 3 in Moscow, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia signed an agreement on oil supplies. Uzbekistan will increase imports of crude oil from Russia to 1 million tons per year, starting in 2024. For comparison, in 2023, Uzbekistan entered into an agreement with Russia to purchase 3 times less - 300 thousand tons of oil.
