Brussels hosted EU-Central Asia Dialogue on Drugs at the Council of the European Union. According to Dunyo, the Uzbekistan delegation was led by the director of the National Narcotics Control Information and Analysis Center under the Cabinet of Ministers Sadirdin Boydedaev, while representatives of other Central Asian countries' anti-narcotics agencies, as well as representatives of regional countries' diplomatic missions in the European Union also attended the event.
EU-Central Asia dialogue on drugs is a regular multilateral meeting aimed at strengthening international cooperation, sharing experience and supporting countries' policies on narcotics. This dialogue is aimed at strengthening the partnership between the countries of the Central Asian region and the EU, and is aimed at contributing to the fight against drug trafficking and security at the regional and international levels.
The delegates exchanged views on the situation related to drugs in the EU and the Central Asian region, as well as in neighboring Afghanistan and discussed regional cooperation, including tasks within the framework of the Central Asia Drug Action Programme (CADAP) to prevent the spread of drugs in Central Asia.
Taking into account the fact that the illegal circulation of narcotic substances is global, the parties emphasized that it was important for the countries of Central Asia and Europe to continue sharing best practices in combating this problem and to strengthen practical cooperation in this regard.
