On February 6, the Shaykhantakhur district criminal court of Tashkent city considered the administrative case against the deputy editor-in-chief of the state-owned Nurafshon TV channel.
According to the case materials, an employee of the TV channel filed a complaint, reporting that her 35-year-old chief Sh. Kh. on January 27 fraudulently invited her to his workplace at Nurafshon TV and sexually harassed her. In particular, according to the lady, the man pushed her to a corner and tried to kiss her.
According to the victim, “this has been happening for a quite a bit,” which is why she has been stressed. The girl asked the court to take legal measures against the man and to recover the caused moral damage.
The man admitted in court committing the offense and expressed regret for what he had done. He stated that this would not happen again in the future and asked the court to mitigate the punishment.
The court sentenced him to three days of administrative arrest under Sexual harassment which is punishable with a fine or administrative arrest for up to 5 days. To recover moral damages, the victim was recommended to sue to civil court.
