Ministry of Emergency Situations commented on the information about the fire in the building of the former Poytakht business tower in Yunusabad district of Tashkent, where refurbishment is underway. Numerous footages of clouds of black smoke visible from afar in the city center have previously spread online.
At 11:40 AM on Friday, February 9, the emergency department received a report of a fire in building materials in a building located on Sharaf Rashidov street.
Four fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the scene; they arrived at the scene at 11:43 and extinguished the fire at 11:51.
As a result of the accident, no one was injured or killed, the Ministry of Emergency Situations added.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are being established.
