At the plenary session of the Senate, the senators reviewed and passed the ratification of the International Labor Organization Convention No. 95 on the Protection of Wages (Geneva, July 1, 1949).
The Convention aims to ensure timely payment of wages in cash by employers. The rules apply to all persons to whom wages are paid or payable.
During the discussion, the senators noted that the convention prohibits payment of wages in the form of debt obligations, receipts, coupons or other forms, as well as alcohol with a high alcohol content, drugs harmful to the body.
The Convention has been ratified by 99 countries of the world.
