President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree easing financial sanctions for businesses for offenses related to fiscal marks and labeling of goods on Monday 26, the Tax Committee and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.

The amount of the fine under Article 227−1 of the Tax Code is being reduced by 50 times. This article provides for sanctions for violation of the requirements for displaying fiscal marks or equipping with automated measuring instruments or ensuring integration with information systems of tax authorities, as well as the rules for mandatory digital labeling of goods. Such violation now entails a fine in the amount of net revenue for the last reporting quarter.

Now, for the first such offense, the fine will be 2% of the revenue for the quarter in which the sale took place, and in case of a repeated violation within a year, the amount increases to 20%.

While, 98% of debts on financial sanctions previously applied for fiscal violations under Article 227−1 are written off before the decree comes into force. Judicial and enforcement cases related to their collection are terminated.

Businesses will also receive 98% of fines back against future payments.

Within a month, the government has been instructed to submit a bill on amendments to the Tax Code.
