On March 1, the investigation team at the Shafirkan district police department of Bukhara province brought additional charges against local resident S.N., who tortured her child for a long period of time, the press service of the Children's Ombudsman said.
As reported earlier, in January the Ombudsman received information and video evidence that S.N. put her six-year-old child in a beshik (cradle), tied him up and beat him with a stick and other objects.
Then a criminal case was launched under Torture of a minor, known to the perpetrator to be in a helpless state charge of the Criminal Code.
The preliminary investigation found signs of a crime under the Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm charge.
Reportedly, the investigation has been completed, the case has been sent to the Shafirkan district criminal court for a ruling says.
