The Children's Ombudsman, Surayyo Rakhmonova, has taken the oversight over the situation with two girls in Karshi, who had been subjected to violence and humiliation by their own father for a long time. This was reported by the press service of the Children's Ombudsman.
16-year-old M., who has a 14-year-old sister N., said that their mother died in 2018. According to her, after her mother’s death, N.R.’s father had committed various obscene and depraved acts against her for several years, regularly beating her and humiliating her dignity with various insults.
The girls ran away from home several times. Their grandmother wrote complaints about their disappearance to the police. Based on the complaint and in order to give a legal assessment of the father’s actions, the Karshi prosecutor’s office began a pre-investigation check.
“Since the girls are in a dangerous social and legal situation, they have been placed in the Center for Social and Legal Assistance to Minors at the Kashkadarya province police department and they have been provided with the necessary assistance,” the statement added.
