Preparations for the launch of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project are now complete, said the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Oqilbek Japarov.
"All processes have been completed and this year we are up for the launch of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project. The project will allow us to join the so-called Middle Way, which includes Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and the Caspian Sea. It will take us to the sea, to Europe - to global and other networks, railway lines and sea routes. "Kyrgyzstan will finally lose the status of a landlocked country," Japarov said.
According to him, at the moment, the feasibility study of the railway project is being updated.
"About 8 billion dollars will be contributed for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway," Japarov concluded.
