President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Wednesday visited the Gulbozor neighbourhood (mahalla) in Tashkent’s Shaykhantakhur district, where a tourist street was inaugurated, the presidential press service said.
The mahalla is reportedly located in the historical part of the city near the Chorsu market, so the district is specialized in providing tourism services.
More facilities have been set up on the street and in houses while preserving their ancient appearance, with underground communication networks laid. While, the Safe District system was introduced.
The historical gate at the entrance to the street has been restored. A large ayvan with carved columns was erected, next to which a reservoir was created. Embroidery and handicraft workshops, a bakery, national restaurants, and jewelry stores were organized. The exhibitions “History of Bread” and “Journey to Ancient Tashkent” were inaugurated. A three-star hotel is being built.
The street will become part of a Tourist ring being created in the Shaykhantakhur district.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the cooking of sumalak and congratulated the locals on the month of Ramadan.
