A man who was taken to a sobering center hanged himself on the night of April 8 in Chartak district of Namangan province, the spokesman to the General Prosecutor's Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov said.
The man, 44, was taken to a medical facility on April 7. Finding him on the ground near a multi-storey building heavily drunk, his wife called the local police officer.
The prosecutor's office began a pre-investigation probe.
The Ombudsman Feruza Eshmatova said she was studying the situation. Her representative for the Namangan province met with members of the man’s family.
