Investigator of Karshi district prosecutor's office in Kashkadarya province is suspected of receiving $5,000 as a bribe, the spokesman to the General Prosecutor's Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov said.
He was arrested while receiving the money on April 8 at 16:10 during an operation by officers of the Kashkadarya Province Department of the State Security Service and the provincial prosecutor's office.
Reportedly, he promised to help to cut the sentence for an accused person in a criminal case.
A criminal case has been launched, the suspect has been arrested due to procedural reasons, with investigation ongoing.
