It was reported earlier that three people drowned on April 10 in Burijar canal, which flows through the Chilanzar district.
Insvestigatio found that the two victims were a mother and child. The third victim, whose body was found later, is the man who tried to save them.
According to a source familiar with the details, a 5-year-old boy accidentally fell into the water while playing on the bank of a canal. Seeing this, the mother jumped into the water to save him and, unable to cope with the strong current she also drowned. Another person who witnessed this tried to save them, jumped into the water and also drowned.
The drowned 35-year-old woman and 5-year-old child were Russian citizens. The third victim was a middle-aged Chinese citizen.
All three bodies have now been recovered from the water.
According to the head of the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, Khayot Shamsutdinov, a pre-investigation check is being conducted into this fact.
