Chief of the Indian Army Staff, General Manoj Pande started a four-day visit to Uzbekistan yesterday. According to Dunyo, the Uzbek Defense Minister hosted the Chief of the Indian Army Staff.
At the Uzbek Defense Ministry, the Chief of the Indian Army Staff met with the First Deputy Minister of Defense/Chief of the General Staff of the Uzbek Armed Forces, Major General Shuhrat Kholmukhamedov. The parties discussed the ways to advance military cooperation between the two countries, as well as the holding of the fifth edition of the joint military exercises, which began today at the Termiz training ground.
After that, the members of the Indian delegation visited the State Museum of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and got acquainted with the historical exhibits.
General Manoj Pande is also expected to attend the inauguration ceremony of the IT laboratory set up with the support of Indian government at the Armed Forces Academy of Uzbekistan. He will also be observing the fifth edition of the Dostlik-2024 Uzbek-Indian military exercises at Termiz training ground and will visit the Samarkand city.
The General of the Indian Armed Forces, as well as the former Prime Minister of India Lal Bahadur Shastri, will pay tribute to the memory of Lal Bahadur Shastri in Tashkent and will visit the Victory Park to reiterate Uzbekistan's worthy contribution to the victory in the Second World War.
