Ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan and Iran discussed cooperation in a conference call, the Dunyo reported on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by First Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Mamanbiy Omarov, First Deputy Minister of Mining and Geology Azam Kadirkhodjaev, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade Azizbek Salokhiddinov, Deputy governor of Khorezm province, Anvar Davletov, as well as officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other organizations. 

In particular, the parties discussed the progress of 29 joint projects with the participation of companies from the two countries with a total worth of $160 million. 

They also exchanged views on the prospects of creating a standalone industrial zone for Iranian companies and finding partners for 23 investment projects in the Khorezm province. 

While, an agreement was reached at the meeting to organize a visit of Iranian Ambassador Muhammad Ali Iskandari to the Khorezm province and to conduct a presentation of the socio-economic potential of the region and proposed investment projects.
