Uzbekistan’s permanent population on the night of April 22, 2024 surpassed 37 million, the Statistics Agency said in a report. The male population accounts for over 18.6 million people, the female population - more than 18.34 million.
Many Internet users refreshed the page with the counter and witnessed the moment when it showed exactly 37 million - this was at 3:24 AM.
At the time of publication of this post, the counter shows an increase of by almost 500 more people.
The Statistics Agency added that real-time data was connected to the civil registry office.
As of April 1, the country's permanent population was 36,963,262. Thus, the increase in less than a month amounted to 36,738 people, or 0.1%.
In 2023, Uzbekistan’s permanent population increase by 774.9 thousand people, or 2.2%. This figure has increased annually since 2020.
