Today, the Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov hosted the British Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, David Cameron, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

“The parties had fruitful and meaningful talks, which made it possible to identify key tasks aimed at enhancing the ties in all areas,” the Minister Saidov noted.

The main focus, he added, was on building up economic ties.

“We appreciate the readiness of the UK authorities to step up the business ties and deepen the cooperation in the field of education,” Bakhtiyor Saidov emphasized.

Following the meeting, the parties signed a Declaration of Comprehensive Cooperation and a Memorandum of Understanding in regional and international relations and infrastructure.

David Cameron is visiting Tashkent as part of his tour to all five Central Asian countries and Mongolia. He has already visited Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, where he met with Presidents Emomali Rahmon and Sadyr Japarov.
