Qatar Airways operated its first flight to Tashkent from Doha on June 2. An Airbus 320 aircraft of Qatar Airlines landed in the capital of Uzbekistan at 13:30. According to tradition, the liner was greeted with an air arch.

According to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports, the inauguration ceremony of the flight at Tashkent airport was attended by the CEO of Uzbekistan Airports Zhavlonbek Umarkhojaev, the director of the airport Jasur Pulatov, the chief of the Civil Aviation Agency Tohir Nazarov, the deputy chief of the air transport department at the Ministry of Transport Jamoliddin Nazarov, the Acting President of Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority Mohamed Faleh Al-Hajri, Senior Vice President for Eastern Regions of Qatar Airways Marwan Koleilat and others.

“One of the best airlines in the world has launched regular flights to Tashkent airport. Air travel between the two countries is not just flights from point A to point B, it is an important milestone of the development of relations between the two countries,” said the CEO of Uzbekistan Airports, Javlonbek Umarkhojaev.

He added that one of the expected results of the cooperation is “importing the level of service from Hamad Airport in Doha and Qatar Airways to Tashkent Airport.”

Marwan Koleilat said that the Doha to Tashkent flight will be operated four times a week - on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, with flight time of 3 hours.

In the future, both an increase in the frequency of flights to Tashkent and the launch of flights to Bukhara and Samarkand are being considered, he added.
