The 3,750-soum per m3 price ceiling of natural gas for vehicles, set at the end of May, has expired today (until June 1, the ceiling price was 3,350 soums).
Against this background, prices at some gas filling stations, as reported by Internet users, have increased to 3,950-4,250 soums, although in some regions gas is still sold at 3,750 soums.
The Ministry of Finance said that businesses started setting their own prices.
Social networks also report a sharp increase in propane retail prices. According to the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange (UzEx), the price of liquefied gas (propane) on June 1 stood at 5.2 million soums per ton, on July 1 - 6.02 million soums per ton, and by July 31 it rose to 7.5 million soums per ton, that is an increase by 25% in a month and by 44% in two months. The same price was at the beginning of January, when prices rose against the backdrop of the closure or restriction of methane gas stations.
