Tashkent city mayor issued a decision raising prices for central heating and hot water supply from October 31. The new retail price for centrals heating and hot water for households increased by 15% to reach 121,617 soums/Gcal from 105,754 soums/Gcal. The price was last raised on April 2 of this year - after the end of the previous heating season.

For legal entities, the price have also risen by 15% - from 212,606 soums to 244,497 soums per Gcal. The last time an increase was at the end of 2023.

For budget-financed organizations, the price remains the same - 801,963 soums per 1 Gcal.

In February of this year, Veolia Energy Tashkent proposed to the deputies council to raise the price for hot water and heat supply to households in Tashkent by 15%. The company chief said that Tashkenters pay only 14% of the base price, and the rest is covered from the city budget in the form of subsidies.

The council approved the increase on September 12, including prices for hot water.

A quarter of all expenses of the capital's budget are used for compensation of losses of heat supply enterprises due to the use of reduced prices for households. In 2024, it is planned to contribute 1.97 trillion soums for this, which is 22.8% more than the forecast for 2023 (1.6 trillion soums).
