The agreement, which allows the nationals of Uzbekistan and China to travel to both countries without visas for 30 days, was signed by the foreign ministers of the two countries at a business forum in Chengdu on December 1. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.
“As part of the implementation of the agreements reached between the Leaders of Uzbekistan and China, today together with my colleague we signed the Agreement that allows our citizens to travel without visa for 30 days. It is another step towards making more intense exchanges and facilitating trade and people-to-people ties” the Minister Saidov on his Telegram channel.
Since March 2021, citizens of China may enter Uzbekistan without visas for 10 days, while the citizens of Uzbekistan must obtain a visa to travel to China. However, it is not yet known when the visa-free regime will take effect.
