The President Mirziyoyev held brief meetings with the leaders of Central Asian countries who landed in Samarkand for the CA-EU Summit Thursday.

At the meeting with the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan, the parties underscored the growth of bilateral trade, which surpassed $1.1 billion last year.

The two countries are implementing bilateral projects in the industry, energy, transport, agriculture and water management sectors and are jointly erecting the Shavat-Dashoguz border trade zone, with interprovincial events and cultural and humanitarian exchanges being held.

The parties also focused on the preparation of upcoming bilateral meetings and multilateral events at the highest level, as well as the promotion of joint projects.

At the meeting with the President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan, the leaders underscored the fruitful trilateral meeting of the heads of state held on March 31 in Khujand, during which a historic agreement on the junction point of state borders was signed.

The parties reviewed the progress of the agreements at the highest level, in particular measures to accelerate cooperation projects in the fields of industry, transport, energy and infrastructure.

They emphasized the need to continue active interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

During the talks with the President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, the leaders also underscored the historic results of the trilateral summit in Khujand on March 31.

They emphasized that the full settlement of border issues opens a new chapter in the development of regional cooperation.

The parties underscored the importance of developing measures to increase the two-way trade and expedite cooperation projects during the upcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission this month.

The leaders discussed the regional agenda, as well as the preparation of bilateral and multilateral events.

At a meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the ways to advance and strengthen Uzbek-Kazakh relations in the context of the agreements reached during a recent informal meeting of the leaders of the two countries in Almaty.

The parties underscored the importance of the two governments taking coordinated measures to increase trade turnover, promote economic projects and humanitarian programs, including at the regional level.

They agreed to expedite the launching the International Center for Industrial Cooperation.
