The Cabinet of Ministers issued April 19 Measures to further improve the procedure for moving certain types of goods across the customs border Resolution introducштп duty-free traveler carry-in limits for biologically active supplements (BAS) for personal use аrom July 20, 2025.

As reported earlier, this document will tighten the duty-free carry-in limits for travelers in Uzbekistan from May 1: through airports - up to $1,000 (currently $2,000), by rail - $500 ($1,000). The limit for courier parcels is reduced from $1,000 per quarter to $200 per month. Minimum stay periods abroad for duty-free carry-in are also being introduced.

According to the Resolution, individuals will now be able to carry in dietary supplements in the following quantities without paying customs duties (previously there were no limits):

  • in liquid form and syrups - up to 10 bottles;
  • in powder - up to 0.5 kg;
  • in tablets - up to 100 pieces;
  • in capsules - up to 100 pieces or up to 4 PET jars;
  • in dried form (flowers, plant parts, roots) - up to 0.5 kg.

In addition, the Resolution clarifies or changes the duty-free carry in limits for a number of other goods.

For alcohol, the limit remains the same - up to 2 liters. And for tobacco products, instead of a general limit of 10 packs, precise limits have now been set:

  • cigarettes - up to 200;
  • cigars - up to 5;
  • tobacco - up to 100 grams.

As for perfumes and eau de toilette, it is now allowed to carry in no more than 3 bottles of up to 300 ml each (previously - up to 3 units without specifying the volume).

In addition, a ban is being introduced for carrying in of alcohol and tobacco products for persons aged under 21 years, as well as through international postal and courier shipments.

In case of exceeding duty-free limits for non-commercial imports:

  • for alcohol and tobacco products, a double single customs payment shall apply (60%);
  • for perfumes and dietary supplements - a single customs payment shall apply (30%).

The limits for the carrying out of certain goods by an individual have not changed.

The value of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical market is estimated at $ 1.6 billion, with contraband or counterfeit products standing at least 20% of the market value.

Among the factors contributing to the prevalence of illegal dietary supplements are duties (30% rate), VAT (12%) and other customs expenses (5%).
