The national list of real estate objects and facilites of material cultural heritage of Uzbekistan is planned to be supplemented by approximately 130 buildings and objects. This is envisaged by the draft government resolution, which was developed by the Agency for Cultural Heritage.

In Nukus, it is proposed to add the grave of Igor Savitsky, an artist, philanthropist and founder of the State Museum of Arts named after him, in the list of attractions.

In Tashkent, it is planned to include the following as architectural monuments:

  • the building of the Cabinet of Ministers;
  • the building of the Research Institute of Art Studies;
  • residential building No. 32 on Mahatma Gandhi street;
  • a complex of buildings of the Republican Specialized Art School after P. Benkov;
  • two four-story residential buildings No. 16 and 18 on Beshyogoch street;
  • residential building No. 59 on Shota Rustaveli street;
  • residential building No. 22 on Shota Rustaveli street.

In 2023, reports surfaced about the possible demolition of house No. 22. At the beginning of this year, the Cultural Heritage Agency announced plans to add the Stalin-era building of 1956 in the list of cultural heritage sites.

Meanwhile, the buildings of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Research Institute of Art Studies are marked as “modernist buildings”.

It was reported in 2024 that 10 modernist buildings would be added to the list, including the Institute of the Sun, the Uzbekistan and Shodlik hotels, the Museum of Arts, the Tashkent Television Center, and others.

The national list of real estate objects of tangible cultural heritage was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on October 4, 2019.
