Uzbekistan and Hungary announced a joint venture for dry cooling systems for Uzbekistan nuclear power plant. The relevant MoM was signed on Monday in Tashkent by the Uzatom Agency, the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Hungarian MVM EGI, the press service of the Uzatom Atomic Energy Agency said.

The MoM records agreements on a number of areas for nuclear power plant projects, including the use of dry cooling systems with mechanical traction, the drafting of technical and commercial proposals for the supply of equipment, as well as the development of educational programs and internships by the Hungarian firms.

The talks, following which the document was signed, were held in Tashkent with the participation of OTP Bank Uzbekistan, as well as Russian partners - Atomstroyexport and Atomenergoproekt.

Earlier in May, the chief of Uzatom, Azim Akhmedkhadzhaev, announced that the manufacturing of dry cooling systems for the Uzbekistan nuclear power plant due to commence in 2026.
