Today on the Entrepreneurs Day, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is chairong the so-called open dialogue with business leaders in the New Tashkent.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed to the symbolism of holding the meeting in a place, where "large-scale construction work" was ongoing.
"This New city megaproject will become a clear testimony to our reforms, a bright symbol of our decisive steps towards renewal and development. For you, the business people, the New Tashkent will turn into a space of new opportunities, ideas and markets, a center of innovation and investment," he said.
The city infrastructure, based on green technologies, will serve to implement new business ideas and initiatives, added Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
"Know that the gates of the New Tashkent will always be open to all entrepreneurs who want to do business," he stressed.
He also outline the achieved results and successes in terms of ease of doing business and economic development. According to him, despite the global economic turmoil due to various conflicts, in the first half of the year, the Uzbek economy grew by 7.2%.
1,600 small firms increased their turnover to more than 10 billion soums during the year and immediately moved into the category of medium enterprises. 143 companies exceeded the figure of 100 billion soums and became large, another 122 small enterprises entered the number of large businesses.
Last year, the number of enterprises with a turnover of over 1 trillion soums stood at 203. In the first six months of this year, another 47 companies were added to them, having overcome the threshold of 400-500 billion soums, Mirziyoyev noted.
Thanks to the expansion of new mechanisms to bring business out of the shadows, the number of jobs in 139 thousand enterprises increased by 811 thousand, and in 273 thousand companies the wage fund increased by 22% or 4.6 trillion soums, the president said.
The president pointed out that last year the average monthly salary in the private sector was 4 million soums, and today it is close to 5 million soums.
In March 2023, he laid a capsule marking the beginning of the construction of New Tashkent. The city is expected to accommodate 1 million people. Government bodies, universities and other facilities will be relocated to the new city on over 20 thousand hectares.
