Chief of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva signed order appointing Komil Allamjonov as the Minister-Counselor at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, representing the Presidential Administration in the United States, the president’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov said.

The position of a Minister-Counselor and Representative of the Presidential Administration in the United States will be introduced as of January 1 of next year by presidential decree "aimed at improving the effectiveness of the coordination of foreign policies and government initiatives."
The Minister-Counselor will be in charge of directly initiating and discussing the implementation of major and strategic investment and trade projects in Uzbekistan and the United States, as well as comprehensively coordinating the work of the U.S.-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council on behalf of Uzbekistan.
The council is chaired by Saida Mirziyoyeva on behalf of Uzbekistan and Sergio Gore, the US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia on behalf of the United States.
In September Komil Allamjonov was appointed special advisor to the Central Asian Studies Program at George Washington University in the US.
