Presidential Advisor on Environmental Issues/Chairman of the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change, Aziz Abdukhakimov announced the holding of a Nationwide 20-Day Shock-Working clean-up campaign from December 20, 2025 to January 10, 2026.

As part of the campaign, a national task force has been formed under the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development and the communal waste collection bodies will be required to clean up all the territories from solid household waste within the said period.

Reportedly, steps would be taken to ensure clean neighborhoods, prevent waste accumulation during holidays, and timely collection of waste on an unscheduled basis.

The main goal of the initiative is to create conditions for the population to spend the New Year holidays in a cheerful spirit, contribute to maintaining a clean environment, and further improve the ecological situation.

Shock Working was a system of incentivizing extreme labor productivity in the USSR , using "shock brigades" of elite workers to overfulfill state quotas, especially during Five-Year Plans, rewarded with privileges like better resources or titles, epitomized by figures like Alexey Stakhanov, and promoted through socialist competitions to build communism, though it sometimes led to debased titles and pressure for unsustainable output.

Soviet Shock Brigades would be tasked with leading production efforts and demonstrating feats of productivity. They were offered rewards included better machinery, more materials, cash prizes, honorary titles (like "Shock Worker of Communist Labour"), and public recognition.

Famous Example: The movement gained immense fame with miner Alexey Stakhanov, who exceeded his coal quota by 1400% in 1935, inspiring the Stakhanovite movement.
