Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the New Tashkent Construction Directorate office and reviewed a presentation of ongoing and future projects in the city.

The foundation stone for the New Tashkent was laid in 2023 located on 19,700 hectares in the Yukorichirchik and Urtachirchik districts. The concept was developed by the British company CrossWorks. More than 100 projects of varying scale are currently being actively implemented here. Each initiative is based on international standards and high-end urban development trends.

The outlines of large-scale construction work are gradually beginning to shape. In the end of 2025, the area of work in reached 3 million square meters.

Construction at several residential complex projects is now on the final stage, with infrastructure advancing rapidly.

In phase I, construction will cover 6,000 hectares of land. As a result, it is planned to create modern infrastructure for the living and working needs of 600,000 people. Upon completion, New Tashkent will be transformed into a vast metropolis designed to accommodate 2 million people.

Construction of this scale requires long-term and sustainable infrastructure. Major underground utility lines are currently being erected. Single- and double-section collectors are being installed to accommodate all utility networks—heating, water supply, electricity, and telecommunications—underground.

Particular attention is being paid to the organization of modern transportation. It has been underscored that the construction of tunnels and underground parking lots is crucial for the city's future transportation system.

A ten-kilometer river bank park is being created on the site. One million shrubs and tree saplings have been planted.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev underscored that "green" principles should play an important role in urban development. Responsible officials have been given additional instructions to coordinate metro and electric bus service, as well as to create safe and barrier-free routes for pedestrians and cyclists. Modern administrative buildings will be constructed for more than 60 government agencies within the new city. Several ministries and agencies have already begun work in temporary complexes.

Investor activity is high. Investment agreements worth $2 billion have been signed for 24 commercial lots sold through auction. These funds will be used to build hotels, restaurants, service centers, and buildings with unique architecture.

At the current phase, 10,000 people have been employed. Once the project is fully completed, hundreds of thousands of high-paying permanent innovative jobs are expected to be created.

The president was briefed on the tourist facilities, service, and entertainment complexes under the New Tashkent project, as well as major investment and infrastructure projects planned in other regions of the country.

The head of state emphasized that each initiative had to be based on scientific advances, reflect local character, and, most importantly, serve the interests of the people.
