The National Statistics Committee has released the preliminary results of the population and agricultural census conducted at the beginning of 2026.
According to the findings, Uzbekistan’s population has reached 39 million. Within this total, children under the age of 14 account for 11.9 million people, or 30.5 percent of the population.
Furthermore, 15 million citizens—or 38.5 percent—are under the age of 20.
Those under the age of 30 make up the majority of the country, totaling 20.3 million people and representing 52 percent of the entire population.
When analyzing the population by gender, the data reveals an exact equilibrium between men and women within the 40–44 age bracket. In all age groups younger than this cohort, men outnumber women, whereas women outnumber men in every age demographic beyond it.
Additionally, the committee reported that the average life expectancy of the population in Uzbekistan stood at 75.4 years in 2025.
