At the invitation of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will travel to Georgia for a state visit on July 2–3, according to the president's press service.
The agenda for the visit to Tbilisi features high-level talks with both Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
"The discussions will focus concretely on practical ways to strengthen political dialogue, advance interparliamentary and interregional cooperation, boost trade and economic ties, and revitalize cultural and humanitarian exchanges," the official statement read.
"Particular emphasis will be placed on promoting joint cooperative projects in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agriculture, tourism, energy, and the IT sector," the statement added.
Another core priority of the talks will be cooperation in transport and logistics to create new avenues for expanding the export reach of domestic goods.
Furthermore, the leaders will exchange views on pressing international and regional matters. Following the conclusion of the summit, the two parties are expected to sign a comprehensive package of bilateral agreements covering various areas of cooperation.
