A long-standing feud between a group of young men in Kokand, Fergana province, has culminated in a fatal confrontation, the Millar TV program said in a report.

Court documents reveal that on the night of the incident around 8:30 PM, a young man, 20, used a ride-hailing app to book a taxi. Accompanied by three female acquaintances, he traveled to a local store in Kokand.

Upon arriving at the destination, he spotted four young men with whom he had an ongoing animosity. Realizing that exiting the vehicle would inevitably trigger a fight, the defendant decided to turn back. However, the rival group spotted him, immediately got into their own vehicle, and gave chase.

They eventually caught up to the Matiz taxi, pounding on the windows and kicking the doors in an attempt to force them open. The taxi driver, completely unaware of the underlying feud, tried to flee the chaotic scene but accidentally crashed the vehicle into a concrete barrier. Following the collision, the defendant slid into the driver's seat himself and attempted to navigate the car away from the attackers.

Shortly after, the rivals—who had now been joined by others arriving in a Nexia—blocked the path of the Matiz and forced it to a halt. As they forcefully dragged one of the young women out of the back seat, two individuals advanced toward the defendant.

In the ensuing struggle, the defendant produced a knife and inflicted a fatal injury upon one of the individuals. The victim died as a result of the wound.

The criminal case was heard before the Kokand District Criminal Court. The court found the young man guilty under Article 97, Part 1 (Intentional homicide) and Article 267, Part 1 of the Criminal Code.

By partially combining the sentences for these charges, the court handed down a final verdict of 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment. He is ordered to serve his sentence in a general-regimen penal colony.

In a separate domestic incident reported previously in the Asaka district of the Andijan province, a man was sentenced to 19 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of his wife at a school.
