Uzbekistan recorded 373,389 live births between January and June 2026, the State Statistics Committee reported.
The vast majority of children were born to fathers between 25 and 39 years old, who accounted for 309,182 of the total, followed by fathers under 25, with 34,526 births. Fathers aged 40 to 59 accounted for 29,403 births, while a smaller number of children — 249 — were born to fathers between 60 and 69. Twenty-nine children had fathers aged 70 or older.
The figures build on data from the first quarter of the year, when Uzbekistan recorded 191,086 live births. Of those, 162 were born to fathers aged 60 or above, including 14 whose fathers had passed 70.
The trend of fatherhood at an advanced age is not new: throughout 2025, Uzbekistan registered 879,599 live births nationwide, and 638 men became fathers after age 60, with 48 of them having children past 70.
