The director of a preschool education institution in Nukus and her deputy have been detained on suspicion of taking 20 million soums in exchange for hiring a person as a speech therapist. A criminal case has been opened on bribery charges.
The operation was carried out by the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office, working with its Kanlikul district division and other law enforcement bodies, the Department said in a statement on Telegram.
The director, identified as K.R., allegedly arranged to receive 20 million soums for hiring a citizen, identified as G.R., as a speech therapist. Her deputy, R.K., was caught with the physical evidence in her office as she accepted the money.
According to the Department, the deputy took the money on the director's instructions.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 210 of the Criminal Code, which covers bribe-taking, and investigators are continuing their inquiries.
