On April 22, the Uzbek Labor Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov met with the South Korea Ambassador Kwon Yong-woo to discuss the issues of hiring Uzbek nationals to South Korea’s labor market.
According to the Labor Ministry, the sides, in particular discussed the issues of increasing the labour quota for Uzbekistan under the Employment Permit System (EPS), as well as ensuring objectivity, fairness and transparency of the selection process.
The sides also considered the possibility of establishment of a representative office the Uzbek Labor Migration Agency in South Korea.
The Minister Abdukhakimov informed the Korean side about the resignation of the agency's management after recent unsuccessful conduct of Korean language test for jobseekers.
The sides agreed to raise the cooperation between the authorized bodies "to a qualitatively new level."
