Uzbekistan Railways is negotiating with companies from Europe and South Korea to purchase of up to 140 train cars and coaches, the company said.
In particular, it is planned to purchase 34 electric trains, 6 diesel trains and at least 100 modern passenger cars "to ensure the greatest coverage of passenger traffic in railway traffic in all regions of the republic."
The talks were held with French Alstom, German Siemens, Spanish SAF, Swiss Stadler, Czech Skoda and South Korean Hyundai at the international exhibition InnoTrans 2022 in Berlin.
