The seventh round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Oman was held in Muscat.
The two delegations were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Furqat Siddiqov, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Sheikh Khalifa al-Harisi.
At the consultations, the sides exchanged opinions on the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the political sphere, regional and international problems.
They agreed to develop mutual cooperation within the framework of international and regional structures, the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The issue of further expansion of the contractual and legal basis of cooperation was on the agenda.
The parties assessed the current state of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and determination of prospects was the main topic of the negotiations and in this regard, exchanged opinions on measures to sharply increase the volume of the two-way trade and to expedite investment cooperation and diversify its content.
