On the morning of September 29, an aircraft of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan flew from Termez to Karachi with humanitarian aid to victims of severe floods in Pakistan, Dunyo news agency reported.
Assistance was provided by the government of Uzbekistan and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. This is the first joint air transportation of humanitarian aid.
More than 15 tons of housing modules are on board to provide temporary housing for those whose homes were destroyed by the floods.
On September 1, Uzbekistan already sent humanitarian aid to Pakistan. The cargo, weighing almost 40 tons, included vegetable oil, flour, rice, canned meat, confectionery and pasta, warm blankets and other goods.
