President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Tuesday received the Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, who is on a working visit in Uzbekistan, UzA said.
The Head of state stressed the importance of continuing active cooperation through law enforcement agencies of the two countries in the field of combating terrorism and extremism, organized crime, drug trafficking and illegal arms trafficking
Particular attention was paid to the fulfillment of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Russia on April 4-5, including in the field of labor migration.
One of the priority areas of bilateral affairs is the training and enhancing of skills of law enforcement personnel. In the meeting was also present the Russian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev.
Earlier on the same day a Memorandum on Cooperation was signed between the Interior Ministries of the two countries for 2017-2018.
