According to Sergey Lebedev, the chairman of the CIS executive committee, preparations for the upcoming summit of the leaders of the Commonwealth of Nations are being conducted at a very high level.
Preparations for the meetings of the highest bodies of the CIS - the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Commonwealth Heads of State - to be held in Astana are ongoing, he added.
The CIS Summit will be held on October 14 in the capital of Kazakhstan in a face-to-face format. It is planned to hold a meeting of the Commonwealth Council of Foreign Ministers on October 12 in Astana.
"We are preparing for the upcoming meetings of the highest bodies of the CIS. It is estimated that they will last three days in Astana - on October 12, 13, 14. On October 13, in Astana, a Conference on Mutual Cooperation and Trust Measures in Asia (CMCTMA) will be held" , said Sergey Lebedev.
According to him, the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS on October 12 is being considered, as the work schedule is very tight.
"We are in contact with our partners, many of them support this date. The CMCTMA will be held on October 13, while the CIS Summit will be held on October 14," said the chairman of the executive committee of the CIS.
